What was the problem?

In the current online dating landscape, individuals seeking serious, marriage-oriented relationships struggle to find compatible partners. Mainstream dating platforms prioritize casual connections, leading to frustration, wasted time, and emotional fatigue for users with long-term intentions. The absence of a dedicated platform exclusively for commitment-focused individuals creates a gap in the market.

What was the goal?

To design and develop a dating app tailored specifically for individuals seeking marriage and long-term commitment. The objective was to create a high-quality, intentional dating experience by eliminating casual relationships and fostering meaningful connections through a curated, values-driven matchmaking system.

Who’s the target?

  • Men and women aged 25-45 who are actively seeking marriage or a serious, long-term relationship.

  • Professionals, entrepreneurs, and individuals with established careers who value commitment over casual dating.

  • Those who prioritize shared values, religious beliefs, and long-term compatibility in a relationship.

Who’s our competitor?

  • Tinder, Bumble, Hinge – While these apps offer a broad spectrum of dating intentions, they lack robust filtering mechanisms for commitment-focused users.

  • The League, Raya – Exclusivity is a core element, but their focus is on status rather than fostering long-term, value-based connections.

What are the pain points?

  • Mismatch in Intentions – Existing platforms fail to distinguish between users seeking serious relationships and those pursuing casual connections.

  • Inefficient Match Filtering – Users often invest time in conversations that do not align with their relationship goals, leading to fatigue and disappointment.

  • Trust & Authenticity Concerns – Fake profiles, ghosting, and a lack of user verification undermine confidence in online dating platforms.

What did I learn?

  • Screening Enhances User Experience – A more selective onboarding process reduces user churn and fosters a higher-quality dating pool.

  • Balancing Exclusivity & Accessibility – While exclusivity enhances quality, overly restrictive entry barriers can deter potential users.

  • Trust & Transparency Drive Engagement – Features like video bios, value-based questionnaires, and identity verification increase authenticity and reduce ghosting.
